Real-Time Data Capture...
We get data from its source several ways:
Turn-Key Supply of Field Instruments
We will specify, procure and install the level sensor you require and any
associated flow meters. We have installed over 5,000 such sensors.
We will also specify, procure and install an RMU (remote monitoring unit) for
the sensor to communicate directly to our data center via telemetry. We have
experience with RMU's that use dial-up modem, cellular network or satellite for
communication.

Use of Existing Electronic Data Sources
For those sites where the necessary instruments are already installed and feed a
process historian such as PI or Wonderware, we will collect data directly from
the historian through frequent file transfer (e.g. e-mail, ftp, etc.) of direct
interface securely over the Internet. If SCADA or DCS exist but there is no
historian present, then we will supply and install a proprietary gateway device
that will act as a historian.
Some upstream oil & gas well operators have connected their sensors to a
Web-based SCADA system. For these operations we will interface to the hosted
SCADA system as if it were on site, but according to the security and interface
requirements of the provider.
Data Transfer to Industrial Evolution Data Center
However the data is available locally, we will use the most economic,
fit-for-purpose and secure approach to transferring the data to the Industrial
Evolution data center.
Options available include
telemetry via dial-up modem,
cellular network or satellite;
file transfer via e-mail or
ftp; direct interfacing to data source over persistent VPN (virtual private
network) via
secure internet.
